Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Swatches ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app shows your products' colour options as swatches through a theme app extension: a product page block and, on Pro, an app embed for product cards, which you add in your theme editor. On Pro you can also link separate products into product groups; the app stores each group in two read-only fields it owns on the grouped products. The app never changes your product data or your theme's code. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your store and your theme

You are responsible for your products, their options and images, and the colours and labels you choose. Swatches select your theme's own variant picker, so prices, images, stock and add to cart keep working the way your theme handles them; if a page has no picker for an option, a swatch opens the variant's own page. Themes differ: if swatches don't appear correctly in your theme, remove the block or switch off the embed and your theme is exactly as before, and contact us so we can help.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can change or cancel your plan at any time on Shopify's plan page (Plans in the app) or by uninstalling the app; a move from Pro to Free takes effect at the end of the billing cycle you already paid for. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

The app doesn't collect or store personal data of your customers. To the extent any personal data of yours or your customers is processed through the app on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
  • process only the minimum data needed: we store your settings and product groups (product IDs, titles and swatch labels) and no customer data. When Shopify's app proxy adds a logged-in shopper's numeric customer ID to a card-swatch request, we ignore it and don't store or log it;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
  • delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction), and delete access tokens as soon as the app is uninstalled;
  • help you respond to data subject requests (we hold no customer data) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
